Speaking on Saturday while inspecting some road projects in the Bwari area council of the nation’s capital, Wike said terminals are needed in the satellite towns to ensure easy movement to the city centre.
In 2024, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) awarded contracts for the construction of some bus terminals in the central area.
“We have agreed that we are going to construct one bus terminal in Gwagwalada and another in Bwari,” he said.
“This will enable people to board a taxi or bus from Bwari down to the city, either to the Mabushi bus terminal, Kugbo terminal or central area bus terminal and the same thing applies to Gwagwalada.
“By the time we have done that, people will be safe and secure.
“You can now go to any bus terminal, board a taxi and go wherever you want without fearing becoming a victim of one chance.”
Wike cautioned residents against boarding vehicles by the roadside to avoid being victims of criminals.
