Fashion Frenzy: H&M Dupe of M&S Coat Takes Market by Storm!

Autumn's arrival signals a season for fashion enthusiasts to refresh their wardrobes, bringing back beloved fall styles such as chunky knitwear and knee-high boots. This year, one item has particularly captured the attention of shoppers: the viral Waxed Look Checked Utility Jacket from Marks & Spencer.
Currently retailing for £90, the M&S jacket has driven customers to stores and online platforms, despite its premium price point. Its appeal is so strong that one TikToker humorously likened its seasonal perfection to "M&S just served up a pumpkin spice latte and turned on Gilmore Girls." Another person praised its "unmatched" quality after trying it on. However, its immense popularity has led to high demand and widespread scarcity, with many shoppers struggling to find their size. Additionally, some have noted that its ubiquity might lead to "every single girl and their mum" wearing it.
For those who have missed out, prefer not to wear the same item as everyone else, or are simply looking for a more budget-friendly option, a savvy alternative has emerged. TikTok user Polly (@pollydunseath) discovered a similar "dupe" at H&M. The Corduroy-collar twill jacket from H&M is available for a significantly lower price of £39.99, approximately half the cost of the M&S version. Polly highlighted that it retains the desirable "check look with the corduroy collar," offering a "super similar" aesthetic. While the H&M jacket is described as cropped and "more boxy" compared to its M&S counterpart, it has garnered a perfect five-star rating from shoppers, presenting a "cute alternative" to the sought-after viral coat.
Beyond jackets, the autumn fashion scene offers various other items to consider. Tips for a complete fall wardrobe include layering up with cozy knit jumpers, such as one on sale at Tesco, and finding the perfect jeans for every body shape, also available at Tesco for the seasonal transition. Conversely, a stylist has advised women over 50 to re-evaluate their wardrobes and discard three popular autumn items that might convey a sense of "giving up."
