Several theories have emerged about the Europa League final, pointing at a Tottenham Hotspur victory over Manchester United in Bilbao. The North London club have beaten their Premier League rivals three times this season.

Tottenham are seeking their first trophy in 17 years when they walk onto San Mames to face Man United. They have had a poor league campaign, and lifting the Europa League could 'save' their season.
One advantage they have over the Red Devils is they have not lost to them since 2022 and have beaten them three times this season.
Moreover, several theories have emerged suggesting a Spurs win, including Ange Postecoglou's famous quote that he always wins things in his second season.
"I'll correct myself - I don't usually win things, I always win things in my second year. Nothing's changed," he said in September 2024 per BBC Sport. "I've said it now. I don't say things unless I believe them."
The Australian tactician won the Australian title with both South Melbourne and Brisbane Roar, and the Japanese league with Yokohama F. Marinos in his second season.
Other theories fans have pointed out are several clubs ending decades of trophy droughts.
Newcastle United ended their 70-year trophy drought by winning the Carabao Cup, while Bologna won their first trophy in 51 years. Crystal Palace also won their first major trophy by beating Manchester City in the FA Cup final. Go Ahead Eagles also won their first trophy in 92 years.
Furthermore, former player Harry Kane won his first major trophy by leading Bayern Munich to the Bundesliga title.

Another theory that has appeared online is that clubs with a bird on their logo have won trophies in England. Liverpool and Palace have won the Premier League and the FA Cup.
Man United goalkeeper Andre Onana has also not won any European finals he has played in.
There are some theories that back Man United to win. For instance, Casemiro has won five Champions League finals.
They've also won 10 finals since 2000, including the 2023 League Cup over Newcastle and 2024 in the FA Cup over Manchester City.
Moreover, they have struggled to beat Spurs since 2022, but the final will be different. Both teams want to lift the trophy to 'save' their season after a poor Premier League campaign.
Earlier, reported that Opta's supercomputer predicted the Europa League winner.
Tottenham and Man United will battle for the trophy in Bilbao on Wednesday, May 21, aiming to end the season on a high.
Spurs have not won a European trophy, while Man United last won in 2017.
