One of the standout features of this collection is the bold reimagining of the waistband, traditionally concealed, now proudly showcased. This avant-garde take not only transforms the wearer’s silhouette but also imbues the designs with a sense of authenticity that is hard to overlook. The revelatory spirit extends to details like exposed pocket bags and luxurious fabrics such as cool-wool, silk, and silk chiffon, promising elegance that dances with fluidity.
Among the highlights is a breathtaking sculptural silk gown, meticulously crafted from twelve meters of fine silk that echoes modernist sculpture while remaining steadfast in its connection to traditional tailoring. It balances grandeur with a rebellious spirit, making it the ultimate showstopper in this collection. Highlighting minimalist elegance, a unisex coat is invigorated by the bold placement of Perbandt’s signature waistband, morphing this essential piece into a sought-after staple.
Perbandt beautifully encapsulates gender fluidity through innovative designs like a waistband skirt gracefully worn by a male model, seamlessly integrating classic menswear accents to conjure an effortless elegance that defines the modern sartorial landscape.
The installation will showcase these transformative looks across nine models in dynamic gender-fluid presentations, all enriched by the striking art of Sylwia Makris’s large-format fashion photography. Visitors will be encouraged to immerse themselves in the intricate craftsmanship and soft tailoring that define this collection.
In her signature eloquent manner, Perbandt captures the essence of her work: “These are clothes for people who value substance and design. Strength can be quiet, and luxury can be black.” With this collection, beauty and wearability walk hand in hand, allowing tailored black pieces to merge seamlessly into everyday life.
We had the pleasure of witnessing the latest creations from Perbandt’s collaboration with the Berlin footwear label Trippen, introducing a new high boot that redefines punk combat aesthetics with a sculptural minimalist approach, completed by Trippen’s iconic 10cm Geisha platform sole.
Following the installation, the BLACK TAILORED SUMMER collection will be available at the Esther Perbandt store in Berlin-Mitte, exemplifying the designer’s conviction that “fashion should move with you.” Here, the story transcends the catwalk, inviting every individual into a world where substantial design reigns.
