The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has announced the successful completion of a major upgrade to ENI’s gas infrastructure, which has increased gas supply from 245 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) to 270 MMscfd.

The Ministry described the enhancement as a significant milestone in its mission to provide a stable and sustainable energy supply for the country. The increased gas capacity is expected to bolster Ghana’s power sector and stimulate broader economic growth.

In a statement released on Monday, July 14, 2025, the Ministry extended its appreciation to ENI and other stakeholders in the power sector for their collective efforts in executing the critical upgrade.

“This enhancement in gas supply is a significant step towards ensuring a reliable and sustainable energy supply for the nation. The increased capacity will support the power sector and contribute to the overall economic growth of Ghana,” the statement noted.

The Ministry also thanked the public for their cooperation and patience during the implementation phase of the project, noting that public support remains crucial in the country’s energy transformation journey.

Spokesperson and Head of Communication, Richmond Rockson, reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to delivering consistent and improved power supply for all Ghanaians, adding that the government remains focused on building a resilient and modern energy sector.
