Emirates Airlines Summer Family Travel Hacks

As Summer 2025 approaches, Emirates is rolling out a comprehensive suite of travel enhancements designed to transform family journeys into enjoyable and stress-free experiences. The airline is committed to elevating family travel by offering a range of exclusive amenities, interactive entertainment, and thoughtful services, ensuring that even the youngest passengers feel like VIPs.
One of the cornerstone features for families is priority boarding, available on all international flights. This allows parents and children to board first, providing ample time to settle into their seats before the general boarding rush, thereby ensuring a calm and smooth start to their adventure.
Once onboard, Emirates caters to young palates with an impressive selection of kid-friendly meals and snacks. Offerings include popular choices like chicken nuggets, mac 'n' cheese, mini burgers, and pizzas, alongside healthier options such as wholesome snacks and refreshing juices. Meals are presented on engaging, kid-friendly trays adorned with fun Emirates crew and pilot avatars, making mealtime an exciting part of the journey.
Emirates is renowned for its world-class entertainment system, ice, which excels in keeping young travelers captivated. The system boasts the largest screens in the sky and features over 100 kid-friendly movies, including popular titles from the 'Wizarding World' and Marvel Universe, alongside TV shows from Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, and CBeebies. To enhance the viewing experience, special purple kids' headphones are provided, designed for comfort and optimal fit on children's ears.
Beyond screens, Emirates offers ‘Fly with Me’ activity packs, brimming with puzzles, world maps, drawing tutorials, and collectible card sets to stimulate young minds. For comfort, all child passengers receive blankets and pillows, ensuring a cozy flight experience across all travel classes. Additionally, Emirates has introduced a new collection of exclusive kids' kits, including backpacks, crossbody bags, and duffle bags for children aged 7-12, while younger children receive their own selection of fun toys and bags, perfect for taking home as keepsakes.
The family-friendly experience extends to Dubai International Airport (DXB). Emirates provides over 1,000 complimentary Maxi Cosi strollers at Terminal 3, allowing toddlers and babies to rest before boarding. During peak times, a dedicated family check-in area helps reduce wait times, streamlining the airport process. From June 25 to July 20, families traveling through DXB can also enjoy complimentary ice cream from carts strategically placed around the Departures area, offering flavors like mango, chocolate, strawberry, and various sorbets.
For First and Business Class passengers, the luxury continues with dedicated kids' play areas in DXB lounges, equipped with arcade-quality games and PlayStation consoles, providing entertainment during layovers in comfortable, family-friendly spaces.
Emirates also offers specialized services for young travelers. The Unaccompanied Minors service provides dedicated assistance for children aged 5-11 traveling alone, with Emirates staff accompanying them through every step of their journey, from check-in to their final destination. For infants, organic baby food, milk formula, and bottles are available onboard, and parents can book seats next to bassinets. Infant amenity kits, including diapers and changing mats, are also provided for convenience.
Adding further value, EmiratesRED, the airline’s inflight retail service, offers discounted trending products like kids' cameras and smart bands when preordered. Young passengers can also join the Emirates Skysurfers loyalty program, allowing children aged 2-17 to earn Skywards Miles redeemable for future flights, upgrades, or special kid-friendly experiences, making each journey even more rewarding.
In summary, Emirates is redefining family travel by providing a holistic, enjoyable, and stress-reducing experience from airport to destination, ensuring that every child is treated as a valued VIP.
