MANAMA (Bahrain) - Seven outstanding players and one iconic coach have been officially inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame as members of the Class of 2025.
The honors were presented at a distinguished ceremony in Bahrain, alongside the FIBA Mid-Term Congress 2025, adding prestige to an already momentous week.
This year's Class included renowned players Alphonse Bilé (Côte d'Ivoire), Andrew Bogut (Australia), Leonor Borrell (Cuba), Pau Gasol (Spain), Ticha Penicheiro (Portugal), Ratko Radovanovic (Serbia), Dawn Staley (USA), and legendary coach Mike Krzyzewski (USA).
Taking part in the ceremony as a speaker, FIBA Hall of Famer Predrag Stojakovic expressed on being inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame. “ I think it is all about the journey. For me, it has been a long and humbling journey. Remembering where I came from and the teams and the country that I represented, it brings me great joy and a lot of memories."
Also present for the occasion, former Australian player and FIBA Hall of Famer Michele Timms added:
“It is incredibly special, and it is an understatement. Your legacy is always going to be there, and you become a part of the history of the game. That is the thing that is truly special to me.”
FIBA Secretary General Andreas Zagklis concluded, "FIBA has established the Hall of Fame to honor those who made the game. They were 192 and now they are 200 with this very special class of 2025. We have been blessed to witness these 8 incredible personalities."
"On behalf of FIBA, thank you. You are not only Hall of Famers, you are forever distinguished members of the FIBA Family, and you are an inspiration for the generations to come."
On the occasion of the Induction Ceremony of the Class of 2025, the FIBA Hall of Fame unveiled its new visual identity, symbolizing the hardwood where the Hall of Famers made their dreams come true and paving the way for the next generations.
