Mrs Cann, who is also the Assistant Guidance and Counseling Coordinator at the Adentan Municipal Education Directorate, a co-convener for Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) on the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) sub-platform Four and a member of International Prisons Chaplains Association Worldwide, Ghana Chapter, was honoured for her work in shaping the mental, social and economic well-being of students.

For her award, Mrs Cann, an educationist, was presented with a Certificate of Achievement in the Education Category.

She told the Daily Graphic that the award would encourage her to do more in shaping the mental well-being of youngsters not only in the country but across the continent.

That, she said, was to support, coach and mentor adolescents with talents and their education.

She said she had been supporting girls’ education, organising programmes for youngsters and also supporting them in kind and cash.

Mrs Cann explained that at a programme for the School Health Education Programme (SHEP) coordinators organised by the Adentan Municipal Education Directorate, “I collaborated to show a film on rabies and to do vaccination for the dogs in the community as well”.

In the course of her work, she recalled a girls' empowerment programme in the Oti Region where she engaged the participants and, with the support of KGL, provided them with some teaching and learning materials.

Mrs Cann expressed her gratitude to all stakeholders who had supported the Dynamic Works Foundation to pursue what “I aspire to do for my country, Ghana”.
