Dubai to host BCL Asia 2025 | FIBA Basketball

BEIRUT (Lebanon) - The FIBA Regional Office-Asia on Wednesday, May 21, has confirmed that Dubai will host the highly anticipated Basketball Champions League Asia (BCL Asia) 2025.

This marks the second successive time that the Emirati city will play host to the highest club competition in the continent after a successful staging of the tournament's inaugural edition last year.

Scheduled to take place on June 7-13, the BCL Asia 2025 Group Phase is set to be played at the Sheikh Saeed Bin Maktoum Sports Hall, the same venue in which the 2024 competitions were held.

The Final Phase will then be held at the state-of-the-art Coca-Cola Arena.

Al Riyadi are coming in as the defending champions after securing another qualification by reaching the recent FIBA West Asia Super League (WASL) Final 8 2025 championship and eventually completing a repeat.

Final 8 2025 runners-up Tabiat complete the WASL representatives to the BCL Asia 2025, where the champion will qualify for the FIBA Intercontinental Cup 2025, FIBA's highest club competition.

Also in are 2024-25 Chinese Basketball Association champions Zhejiang Guangsha Lions, 2024-25 Korean Basketball League winners Changwon LG Sakers, and 2024 PBA Philippine Cup champions Meralco Bolts.

The whole 8-team field will be finalized when the ongoing 2024-25 Japan B.League Play-Offs and the BCL Asia-East 2025 Final 4 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on May 30-31 comes to a close.

Chinese Taipei teams Taoyuan Pauian Pilots and New Taipei Kings, the Ulaanbaatar Xac Broncos of Mongolia's The League, and Pelita Jaya Basketball of the Indonesia Basketball League are set to compete in the Final 4.
