Drone strike in Lviv demolishes residential building entrance
Lviv suffered a massive drone attack on the night of July 12, with fires and destruction reported, according to the city mayor, Andrii Sadovyi, and the head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi.
This morning, on July 12, a Russian kamikaze drone struck a two-story residential building on Mytropolyta Andriia Street in Lviv.
As a result of the attack, the lower entrance of the building sustained significant damage, with broken windows, destroyed walls, and debris from structural elements.
There was a gas and water leak in the building, but fortunately, a fire was avoided.
Currently, at least 20 rescuers, gas service crews, and emergency water utility repair teams are working at the site. All residents of the building have been evacuated to a safe location, with no casualties or injuries reported.
According to representatives of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, the destruction of the entrance complicates access for the rescuers, but specialists have already begun stabilizing the structure and repairing the gas and water supply.
In the Zaliznychnyi district, the roof of a non-residential building caught fire over an area of 200 square meters as a result of the attack.
On the night of July 12, Russia launched a massive assault on Ukraine, firing a large number of Shahed strike drones and missiles. The enemy attack primarily targeted the western regions of the country.
Initially, explosions were reported in Kropyvnytskyi and Cherkasy. Later, air defense operations were confirmed in Kyiv, Chernivtsi, and Lutsk. For more details, see the article by RBC-Ukraine.
Loud explosions were also heard in Lutsk and the Volyn region. Additionally, air defense systems were active in Lviv.
