Dodgers Select Lou Trivino After Latest Kirby Yates Injury
Los Angeles Dodgers manager, Dave Roberts, announced on Saturday evening, after the 11-9 loss to the Los Angeles Angels that reliever, Kirby Yates, was almost certainly heading to IL with an injured hamstring.
"The assessment early is a grade 1 hamstring." Roberts said to the media on Saturday evening, "I don't see how it's not an IL. We'll see how he comes in tomorrow, but I could see it as an IL. No imaging yet. I think that's tomorrow."

And now, per The Athletic's Fabian Ardaya, it seems that this will in fact transpire, with the team bringing in a veteran face as his replacement.
Yates will most likely go to the 15-day injured list, and whilst he will certainly be a miss for the organization, many fans and media have lamented his lack of consistency over the past two months, having signed a one year, $13 million contract with the team in January.

Coming off of a 2024 season in which he had a 1.17 ERA, the former Texas Ranger has not been able to duplicate that level of success in 2025, managing just a 4.34 ERA - his worst season total since 2022.

As for Lou Trivino, whom the Dodgers signed to a minor league contract earlier in May, he had a stint with the San Francisco Giants earlier this season as excellent performances in the spring helped earn him a spot on the team's roster for Opening Day.
After a below par performances in the regular season that saw him give up four home runs and manage a 5.84 ERA in 11 games, the Giants released Trivino in early May.
