Hahn Confirmed to Play 'Mother Gothel' for 'Tangled' Live-Action Remake!

The Tiny Beautiful Thingsand The Studio actress has confirmed her casting in Disney’s live-action Tangled film as Mother Gothel, the villain who keeps Rapunzel (Teagan Croft) hidden away from the world in order to benefit from the healing magic of her long blonde hair.

The two-time Oscar nominee had to back away from any consideration for the part due to her future production schedules onBatman IIandThe Exorcistreboot.
Despite initial trade reports in January suggesting only negotiations, the collective internet's push has paid off, proving that sometimes the most obvious casting decisions are indeed the best ones.
Disney is moving full steam ahead with its newRapunzel film! Teagan Croft will bring the beloved Rapunzel to life, while Milo Manheim steps in as the charming Flynn Rider.
Michael Gracey is set to direct, with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson crafting the script.
The project is produced by Kristin Burr of Burr! Productions, with Lucy Kitada on board as executive producer, making sure this fairy tale sparkles both on and off screen.
Released in 2010, Tangled was both a critical hit and a box office success, raking in nearly $592 million worldwide.
The film even snagged an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song with “I See the Light,” composed by Alan Menken and penned by Glenn Slater.
Collider praised the movie as “a tasty blend of fresh ideas and classic adventure,” noting its fun twists and heartfelt moments.
