Denzel Washington's Blockbuster 'Yellowstone' Collaboration Dominates Streaming

Denzel Washington stands as one of the most talented and prolific actors of all time, having garnered 10 Academy Award nominations and securing two wins. Among his highly acclaimed performances is his role in the 2012 psychological thriller, Flight, which earned him one of those prestigious nominations.

In Flight, Washington stars alongside Yellowstone veteran Kelly Reilly, portraying a pilot who executes a miraculous landing, only for the event to bring his troubled personal life under intense scrutiny. The film also features MCU veteran Don Cheadle in a significant role. Upon its release, Flight received overwhelmingly positive critical reception, achieving a Certified Fresh 77% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and a 75% on the audience-driven Popcornmeter. It was also a massive financial success, grossing an impressive $161 million at the box office against a modest $31 million budget.

Washington's portrayal of Whip Whitaker in Flight is frequently cited as one of the most accurate depictions of alcoholism ever seen on screen. The film was directed by Robert Zemeckis, renowned for his work on the Back to the Future trilogy, Forrest Gump (also starring Tom Hanks), and The Polar Express. John Gatins penned the script for this compelling drama.

Currently, Flight is widely accessible for audiences in America, streaming for free on Pluto TV, where it has consistently ranked among the platform's top 10 most popular movies. It is also available for streaming on Paramount+.

Beyond his celebrated past roles, Denzel Washington recently made headlines with news hinting at his potential entry into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Late last year, during the press tour for Gladiator II, Washington let slip that director Ryan Coogler was writing a role specifically for him in the third Black Panther movie. While initial reports were walked back by Washington and Marvel executives, the rumors were officially confirmed earlier this year. Coogler has since stated that Black Panther 3 will be his next project after Sinners, building anticipation for Washington's possible return to Wakanda.
