Pop star Demi Lovato recently experienced a brief hospitalization on Tuesday, October 27th, following an allergic reaction. Lovato took to her Instagram Story, posting a photo while receiving medical treatment with an IV and a hospital bracelet, speculating that she may have developed a new allergy to either passionfruit or sushi. The initial post, which read “Soooooo i’m either allergic to passionfruit or sushi now,” was later deleted.
Following the health scare, the 34-year-old reportedly made a subsequent post, also since-deleted, to calm her fans, known as 'Lovatics,' by stating, “I’m fine.” This incident adds to Lovato's documented history of battling various allergies over the years.
Notably, in 2009, Lovato suffered another allergic reaction while filming an episode of the show 'Sonny With a Chance.' At the time, she believed the reaction stemmed from an ingredient in egg salad, recalling, “I had to go home early because they couldn’t just cover me up with makeup since I was red and itchy. I guess I was allergic to something in egg salad. But it was actually really funny and amusing.” Lovato has also openly discussed her severe allergies to pets, such as cats and dogs, which once led her to return an adopted feline after just one day.
On the music front, the 'Camp Rock' alum released her dance-pop album titled 'It’s Not That Deep' in October 2025. The album achieved commercial success, peaking at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 chart. Billboard has reportedly reached out to Demi Lovato’s representatives for further comment regarding the recent health event.
