, 70, of Stony Point, N.C., passed away peacefully on July 7, 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House with his wife Debbie by his side.

Danny was born in Fort Campbell, Ky., on October 20, 1954. He was the son of the late Kenneth and Doris Sloan.

In addition to his loving wife of 50 years, he is survived by his daughter, Angie Sloan (Liz Schatz) of Liberty, N.C.; his sister, Debbie (Jerry) Price of Tuscumbia, Ala.; his brother, Scott (Margaret) Sloan of Statesville; nephews, Eric (Aneliese) Myers, Ben, and Gabe and niece, Adeline Sloan; a grand-nephew, Jacob and two grand-nieces, Hannah Myers and Layla Myers.

Danny attended North Iredell High School, graduating in 1973. He cherished his lifelong friends, including Bobby and Cindy Campbell, Terry and Sherri Fox, and Van Stack, as well as friends Gene and Renee Hilderbrande.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing guitar. He also enjoyed woodworking, which was often a way for him to show love by crafting pieces for friends and family.

Danny’s wish was to not have a formal funeral; however, near the end of his life he often expressed his hope and trust in Christ, and his desire to see Jesus face to face. Therefore, in the coming weeks we will have an informal gathering to celebrate his life and rejoice over how God made him a trophy of His grace.
