Cyberbullying Scandal Rocks Music Community: Tiktoker Faces Custody Over Attacks on Mohbad's Widow

Popular TikToker Oladimeji Hammed, widely known as Immunizer, remains detained at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre despite being granted bail by a Lagos Magistrate Court in Ikeja. His continued detention stems from allegations of cyberbullying and online harassment directed at Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, the widow of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad. Sources close to the case have indicated that Hammed has not yet secured his freedom due to his inability to fulfill the stringent bail conditions set by the court.

Hammed, aged 27, was formally arraigned on a six-count charge filed by the Commissioner of Police. He pleaded not guilty to all the allegations leveled against him. The court subsequently granted him bail, but with specific and demanding requirements. He was ordered to provide two sureties, each of whom must present evidence of a bank account balance of at least ₦700,000. Furthermore, one of the sureties is mandated to be a state civil servant, while the other must be a direct blood relative. Both sureties are also required to provide proof of current tax compliance. Until these conditions are meticulously met and verified, the social media influencer will remain in custody at the correctional facility.

The prosecution's charges detail a series of social media posts allegedly published by Hammed between February and March 2026, explicitly targeting Mohbad's widow. Prosecutors claim that Hammed published various posts and videos containing claims and remarks about Omowunmi, content that purportedly exposed her to significant public ridicule, hostility, and widespread online attacks. The police further alleged that some of these publications played a role in intensifying public hostility towards the widow, who has been under intense public scrutiny following her husband's death in September 2023. Additionally, one of the counts against the defendant specifically accuses him of publishing nude images and other harmful content, allegedly with the intent to harass and humiliate her. Despite these serious allegations, the TikToker consistently denied all charges when he appeared before the court.

The case has been adjourned for further hearing, with Oladimeji Hammed remaining in Kirikiri as he awaits the perfection of his bail conditions, underscoring the legal complexities and personal challenges involved in the ongoing proceedings.
