Court Slams Ruto's 'Illegal' Advisors, Sparks Furious Rebuttal from Ndii

Economist David Ndii, Chairperson of the Presidential Council of Economic Advisors, has rejected a High Court ruling declaring the offices of presidential advisors unconstitutional.
Ndii insisted that the decision would not hinder him or other advisors from providing guidance to President William Ruto, noting that formal offices are not required to offer counsel.
He described the judgment as a “pyrrhic victory” and suggested that advisors could continue to operate informally, as part of a “kitchen cabinet.”
The ruling had raised scrutiny over the perks and powers associated with these positions, including salaries, access to official vehicles, and the exercise of state authority, despite their advisory nature.
Ndii maintained that these concerns do not prevent advisors from continuing to influence policy and provide expertise to the President.
