Country music night and Negro Leagues night on tap at Indianapolis Indians games
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Indians baseball team welcomed fans back to Victory Field starting Tuesday night for a six-game homestand against the Gwinnett Stripers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, running through Sunday.
The series will feature a lineup of themed nights, daily deals and family-friendly fun, highlighted by Country Music Night, Negro Leagues Night, and Harry Potter Weekend.
Wednesday’s day game will offer fans a chance to enjoy baseball under the sun. Gates open at 12:30 p.m. with a 1:35 p.m. first pitch.
On Thursday, Victory Field comes alive for Thirsty Thursday presented by Busch Light, featuring drink specials including $3 beers and $2 Pepsi fountain drinks. The evening doubles as Country Music Night, with a live pregame performance by Cowboy Co. and a cowboy hat giveaway for the first 1,000 fans.
The celebration continues Friday with Negro Leagues Night presented by the Indiana Civil Rights Commission. The Indians will wear specialty Indianapolis ABCs jerseys honoring the historic local team, with a portion of proceeds from an in-game jersey auction supporting community initiatives. Fans can also tune into a virtual “Walk-and-Talk” tour with historian Sampson Levingston, exploring sites significant to Black baseball history in Indianapolis. The evening will conclude with fireworks.
A magical experience awaits over the weekend with Harry Potter Weekend on Saturday and Sunday. The first 2,000 fans through the gates each day will receive a Hogwarts House scarf, and the team will don custom jerseys inspired by the Wizarding World. Jerseys will be auctioned off, with bidding open through the seventh inning on Sunday.
Sunday will also include Kids Eat Free Sunday. Children 14 and younger will receive complimentary meals with admission. The first 500 members of the Knot Hole Kids Club can claim a Rowdie mini pennant. Members can run the bases following the game, weather permitting.
Single-game tickets for the homestand remain available at IndyIndians.com.
