Country Legend Clint Black Cancels Show Amid Medical Emergency!

Country music icon Clint Black was recently hospitalized due to a medical emergency, leading to the cancellation of his scheduled performance on Friday, July 3, at the Pearl River Resort in Choctaw, Mississippi. The "Hey Good Lookin'" singer was admitted to the hospital on Sunday, June 28, suffering from infected tonsils that necessitated emergency intravenous antibiotic treatment. In an Instagram post, Black, 64, reassured his fans that he is on the mend, expected to make a full recovery, and anticipated to be discharged from the hospital later in the week. He and his management team extended their sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused by the cancellation, and all tickets will be fully refunded at the original point of purchase.

Despite this health setback, Black's touring schedule, dubbed the "Back on the Blacktop tour," is set to resume shortly. His next stop is slated for July 9 at The Carson Valley Inn — TJ’s Corral Outdoor Event Center in Minden, Nevada. The tour includes dates through November 14, concluding at the L’Auberge Casino Resort in Lake Charles, Louisiana. In addition to his headlining gigs, Black will also be making appearances at various festivals and joining Cody Johnson on tour. Notably, in October, he has eight shows lined up with Midland across several states, including North Carolina, Indiana, Missouri, Kentucky, Alabama, and Virginia.

This year has also seen Black venture into the literary world with the release of his memoir, "Killin’ Time: My Life and Music," in May. Publisher HarperCollins describes the book as a "raw, intimate and unflinching story" that chronicles his journey from a struggling songwriter to a chart-topping superstar and an enduring music legend. Speaking to People magazine about his memoir, Black shared insights into his life, characterizing it as the story of a child from a blue-collar family who, with limited education, achieved success through sheer determination. He recounted his early struggles as a "scrappy little kid" navigating the nightclubs and then the record business, persevering through numerous hurdles, injuries, and surgeries, all while striving for excellence in his career.
