COLUMBUS, Ohio (WSYX) — We start the weekend on a sunny note with warm temperatures. By the afternoon, highs will soar into the low 90s with scattered cumulus clouds. Heat index values will push into the mid to upper 90s.

  • MONDAY: Sun and clouds. Slight chance for a few rain showers and storms. High: 89

Due to the heat and humidity, a few pop-up storms cannot be ruled out. Storms will be capable of producing heavy rain and gusty winds with a Slight Risk (level 2 out of 5) for areas west of I-71 and a Marginal Risk (level 1 out of 5) for the rest of Ohio. If you hear thunder roar, head indoors. A few more rain showers and thunderstorms are possible on Sunday as a cold front sweeps across the area. Highs will be in the upper 80s. Storms move out by early Monday morning with a mix of sun and clouds. It remains hot into Tuesday with highs in the low 90s. Enjoy the dry day as the week ends on an active note with the chance for rain showers and thunderstorms.
