China and Myanmar Leaders Exchange Congratulations on 75th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations
Chinese President Xi Jinping and Myanmar leader Min Aung Hlaing exchanged congratulations on the momentous occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between their two nations. This significant milestone was acknowledged by both leaders, underscoring the enduring ties that bind China and Myanmar.
In his congratulatory message, President Xi Jinping emphasized the profound "Paukphaw" (fraternal) friendship that has characterized China-Myanmar relations for three-quarters of a century. He noted that this bond has not only stood the test of time but has also grown stronger. Xi highlighted that the relationship is firmly rooted in the jointly advocated Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence and the Bandung Spirit, which have guided their interactions.
President Xi further elaborated on the nature of this enduring relationship, pointing out the mutual commitment to good neighborliness and the deepening of mutually beneficial cooperation. A key aspect has been the firm support each country offers the other on issues concerning their respective core interests and major concerns, setting a commendable example of friendly international exchange. Xi also recalled his recent meeting with Min Aung Hlaing in Russia in May, during which they reached an important consensus on constructing the China-Myanmar community with a shared future.
Looking forward, President Xi stressed that China attaches great importance to the development of its ties with Myanmar. He expressed China's readiness to collaborate with Myanmar, using the 75th anniversary as a pivotal opportunity. This collaboration aims to accelerate high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, jointly implement the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative. Furthermore, China is committed to pushing for solid progress in building the China-Myanmar community with a shared future, with the ultimate goal of delivering greater benefits to the peoples of both countries.
