Android users can now download the SC Parents Directory app to find and connect with local free and reduced-cost programs across the state, including housing, transportation, child care, employment, educational resources, legal assistance and other essentials.

Children’s Trust of South Carolina, in partnership with the University of South Carolina Children’s Law Center, launched the app earlier this year for law enforcement officers to better support families.

The app can also be used by other child and family-serving professionals, such as social workers, healthcare professionals and school administrators.

“We want this app to give professionals in the field an easy way to help families access the support they need—directly from their tablet or device,” said Brittany Crowley, Children’s Trust’s community relations coordinator.

The app’s directory is powered by findhelp, the largest network of free and reduced-cost programs. Children’s Trust works with community-based organizations across South Carolina to connect families with the resources they need.

The SC Parents resource directory is available 24/7 on the Android app or by visiting scparents.org.

This production of the app was supported by a grant from the Bureau of Justice Assistance.
