The meeting, chaired by Kenya’s President William Ruto, brought together heads of state from Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania, Uganda, Somalia, and South Sudan.
However, Amisi has cautioned Ruto to approach the issue of DR Congo with caution, saying it might have far-reaching diplomatic consequences.
According to Amisi, if Kenya does not handle the DR Congo with caution, it might affect ODM leader Raila Odinga's chances of winning the African Union Commission's top seat.
The ODM lawmaker said the geopolitical situation presented by the DR Congo crisis is so complicated that it might influence the voting patterns of around six countries that have already endorsed Raila.
"Dear Ruto, one vote is crucial in this #AUC election. Please don't tinker with Congo by committing geopolitical blunders in this #DRCongo crisis. You mess up with Congo relations with Kenya, and you mess up Burundi, Angola, Mozambique, Namibia, and possibly Rwanda vote," Amisi argued.
Earlier, Ruto called for an immediate cessation of hostilities in light of the mounting tensions and humanitarian crisis in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.
Ruto, who spoke as the chairperson of the East African Community (EAC), expressed deep concern over the ongoing conflicts in the region.
In his Sunday night address, Ruto highlighted the urgency of the situation, particularly the worsening humanitarian conditions that have significantly impacted the civilian population, particularly women and children.
Protesters accused Rwanda of fuelling the ongoing conflict in Eastern Congo, which has displaced over 400,000 people.
Meanwhile, protests erupted in the Congolese capital, Kinshasa, as demonstrators looted and set fires at the Kenyan Embassy and other diplomatic missions, including those of Uganda and South Africa.
Police used tear gas to disperse the protesters, who also attempted to gain access to the French Embassy, while the Rwandan Embassy was severely damaged by fire.
In a statement issued by Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary Korir Sing’Oei, Kenya condemned the attacks and demanded that Congolese authorities take immediate measures to restore order and protect diplomatic missions.
