Buhari Always Acted In Nigeria's Best Interest, Says Katsina Governor Radda
The Governor of Katsina state, Dikko Umaru Radda has praised the legacy of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, stating that every decision he made during his time in office was in what he believed to be the best interest of Nigeria.
Speaking in an interview with ARISE NEWS on Wednesday, the governor expressed deep admiration for Buhari’s commitment to the country, saying his integrity and sincerity were never in doubt despite the challenges of his eight-year presidency.
“Whatever decision Baba took, he took it in the best interest of Nigeria, in his own understanding,” Radda said. “There may be challenges, there may be some shortcomings, there may be some issues, which are beyond him. And despite all the challenges in his eight years of rule, people still believe in him. People have never doubted his honesty. People have never doubted his integrity.”
Paying tribute to Buhari’s lasting bond with the masses, Radda noted the overwhelming turnout of mourners who lined the streets as the former president’s body was transported through the state. “Yesterday, as I was moving with the corpse, you can see how people were trooping outside from their villages, paying their last respect. And when we were in Daura, yesterday, it was really a very, very big crowd that came to pay last respect for Baba. Even today, the town is still filled up with people who are coming from all walks of life, from all places. Baba is a man of the masses, and all his political journey has been supported by the masses in millions, and that has also been shown.”
Radda concluded with prayers for Buhari’s soul, asking Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him eternal peace in Al-Jannah Firdaus.
