The Member of Parliament for Abetifi and former Minister of State, Bryan Acheampong, has paid a courtesy call on former President John Agyekum Kufuor to formally inform him of his intention to contest for the flagbearer position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The visit forms part of Dr. Acheampong’s consultations with key figures of the NPP as he prepares to officially launch his campaign.

During the meeting, he expressed his appreciation for the former president’s contribution to the party, the nation and acknowledged his enduring legacy as a leader.

Bryan Acheampong, who has served in various strategic roles under the former Akufo-Addo government, reaffirmed his long-standing commitment to the NPP and stated that he believes the time is right to lead the party.

He cited his years of public service and contributions to party development as a solid foundation for the responsibility he now seeks to undertake.

He explained that his decision to contest is motivated by a desire to offer pragmatic leadership and restore confidence among the party’s grassroots base.
