BREAKING: Crypto Goes Mainstream as Samsung Offers Free Coinbase Premium!

South Korean tech giant Samsung has significantly deepened its engagement with the cryptocurrency ecosystem by expanding its partnership with U.S. crypto exchange Coinbase. This enhanced collaboration offers Samsung Galaxy users who link their devices through Samsung Wallet free access to Coinbase One, Coinbase's premium subscription service, for a period of three months. This premium service provides a suite of benefits, including the elimination of trading fees on a wide array of digital assets, enhanced staking rewards, dedicated priority customer support, and access to exclusive partner offers.
In addition to the premium service access, Galaxy users are also eligible to receive a $25 bonus upon completing their initial cryptocurrency trade via Samsung Wallet. This initiative is part of Samsung's broader strategy to integrate crypto more deeply into its user experience, enabling users to view their cryptocurrency holdings alongside other essential digital assets within their Samsung Wallet interface. The initial integration of Coinbase's services with Samsung Pay was first announced in July, laying the groundwork for this expanded partnership.
Samsung's involvement in the crypto space is not a recent development. The company has a well-established history, having launched the Samsung Blockchain Wallet in 2019 concurrently with the release of its Galaxy S10 smartphone. The following year, Samsung solidified a strategic deal with another prominent cryptocurrency exchange, Gemini, integrating its services directly into the Samsung Blockchain Wallet. This partnership with Gemini was structured similarly to the earlier announced Coinbase integration. Samsung further expanded its blockchain capabilities by enabling support for both the Stellar and Tron blockchains.
Demonstrating its commitment beyond mere integrations, Samsung also announced a collaboration in 2022 with Veritree, a Cardano-based platform, as part of its environmental sustainability efforts. Furthermore, Samsung, through its innovation arm, Samsung NEXT, has strategically invested capital into various blockchain-related companies, notably including NFT industry leader Yuga Labs. These actions collectively underscore Samsung's sustained and multifaceted commitment to the burgeoning world of blockchain and cryptocurrency.
