Botched Beauty Horror: Kitchen Lip Filler Victim Speaks Out

The alarming rise of unregulated cosmetic surgery, often dubbed 'cowboy' procedures, has led to tragic consequences, including severe injury and death. High-profile cases like the death of Alice Webb, a 33-year-old mother of five, after a non-surgical butt-lift, and Sasha Dean, who was left in a coma following a liquid BBL performed by an unqualified practitioner, highlight the extreme dangers. These incidents underscore a pervasive issue where invasive cosmetic treatments, such as Brazilian butt lifts, are being carried out by individuals with no medical training in unsuitable locations like private homes, Airbnbs, and hotel rooms, creating a 'Wild West' scenario in the industry.
Faye Winter, a public figure, shared her personal nightmare with unregulated cosmetic procedures. Her journey with fillers and Botox, initially positive with a qualified nurse, took a disastrous turn when she sought cheaper alternatives on Instagram after her nurse ceased practice due to safety concerns within the industry. Faye paid significantly less for lip filler from a practitioner who falsely claimed a dental background but in reality had only completed a single-day course and came from a fast-food hospitality background. This procedure, conducted in a non-clinical kitchen setting amidst children and dogs, left her lips overstretched, lumpy, and permanently damaged, requiring continuous filler to maintain their appearance.
Adding to her distressing experiences, Faye also endured a 'cheap Botox' disaster prior to her appearance on Love Island. For a mere £180, a self-proclaimed property developer, who also lied about his medical credentials, administered Botox that caused her eyebrows to relax completely, eyelids to hang, and her face to lose its natural shape. Despite the visible adverse effects, the practitioner denied fault and offered no refund, suggesting further non-surgical treatments like PDO threads to 'correct' the damage he caused. These personal accounts exemplify the devastating impact of untrained and unscrupulous operators.
The scale of this crisis is significant. Save Face, the UK's largest register for accredited practitioners, reported over 3,000 cases of complications or unwanted outcomes from cosmetic procedures in a single year, reinforcing the notion that this is a
