Baggy Jeans Are a Trending Spring 2025 Celebrity Denim Style

Published 2 weeks ago3 minute read

At the same time that skinny jeans are threatening a comeback (please, don’t), super roomy jeans are having a major moment. Maybe I’m biased, but my money is on the latter to actually stick around. Not only does the style feel good to put on, but they bring an effortlessly-cool vibe to everything they’re worn with. That’s probably why stars across every generation, from 21-year-old Tate McRae to 55-year-old Jennifer Lopez, reach for them on repeat.

If I’m wearing a pair of jeans, it’s almost always going to be this comfy-cool style. It’s the perfect bottom for a classic T-shirt or cozy sweater, but can also be dressed up without too much effort; McRae and Lopez did it by simply adding a pair of pumps. Below, I rounded up the nine baggy jeans I have my eye on for spring, including a couple under-$50 picks and even some pairs from brands Lopez has worn.

To try this trend for less, you’ll want to snag BDG’s Logan baggy jeans while they’re on sale for just $36 at Nordstrom. Look, I’m typically dubious about a cheap pair of jeans, but I’m surprisingly all-in on this pair because of its 100-percent cotton design and shopper approval. That chic dark wash and the trouser-inspired belt at the back of the waist—it looks cool and helps you get the perfect fit—are nice bonuses.

If you’re someone who’s turned off by the shapelessness of baggy jeans, I’d recommend this pair from Levi’s, which has a cinched waist. While so many baggy styles sit low and loose on the hips, this pair has a fitted high-waist, which helps create some shape. A fan wrote that these are the first baggy jeans to not “swallow” them, explaining that the pants perfectly “hug” their waist while offering a “relaxed, effortless baggy look at the legs.”

Free People

Jennifer Lopez has been spotted rewearing Free People’s famous barrel jeans, so of course a baggy pair from the brand had to make my list. I really like the Cora slouchy style, which has a mid-rise fit, 100-percent cotton design, and is available in three classic colors: light blue, dark blue, and black. And while shoppers adore how “well made,” “flattering, and comfortable,” these jeans are, they do advise sizing up if you want the model’s low-hanging, super baggy look.

Mother

Mother is another go-to denim brand for Lopez, as well as a handful of other celebs and fashion editors; its Snacks Rigatoni Sneak Jeans might just be my favorite on this list. The style has a really wide, loose leg that drapes perfectly and I love its mid-wash, which, IMO, is the most versatile denim color.

Wanting to look good and feel comfortable isn’t something you age out of, which is why stars across every generation keep reaching for baggy jeans. Shop even more of the styles I’m loving, below.
