ARDOT reports that around 70 highways still closed in Arkansas due to high water

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Officials with the Arkansas Department of Transportation reported on Monday that there are still around 70 or so roads in the state closed due to high water levels.

In , ARDOT said that of the 70 road closures, ten of them have sustained damage and are currently being assessed by repair crews.

Central Arkansas highways, interstates affected by flooding

According to ARDOT’s 24 counties or a little over a quarter of counties in the state, have at least one road listed closed due to high water, washout or pipe/culvert maintenance.

The counties with the most highway closures are Jackson County with 13, six in Independence County and four each in Clark, Clay, Mississippi and Poinsett counties.
