Archbishop Ignites PF Political Firestorm with Stark Warning to Unite or Be Judged

The Catholic Diocese of Kasama, led by Archbishop Most Reverend Ignatius Chama, has urged Zambia’s Patriotic Front (PF) to urgently restore unity and elect a substantive leader to strengthen its effectiveness as a credible opposition party.
Speaking during a meeting with PF presidential candidate Makebi Zulu in Kasama, Archbishop Chama warned that time was running out for the former ruling party to put its affairs in order.
He emphasized that internal cohesion and clear leadership are essential for the PF to play a meaningful role in Zambia’s democratic landscape.
Archbishop Chama stressed that persistent divisions within the party risk weakening its influence and undermining its opposition mandate.
He cautioned that a fragmented organization cannot effectively hold the government accountable or represent citizens’ interests.
Calling for reconciliation and collective purpose, he advised party members to resolve their differences and avoid actions that could further destabilize the PF at a critical political moment.
In response, Makebi Zulu assured the Archbishop that the party remains committed to electing a substantive leader before the end of the month.
He acknowledged both internal challenges and alleged external efforts aimed at destabilizing the PF but maintained that the party remains focused.
Expressing confidence in his leadership, Zulu stated that he is well-positioned to unify the party and guide it toward renewed strength, pledging to provide clear direction and a vision for a stronger future for Zambians.
