The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ikorodu West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has formally presented its candidates for Saturday local government election.

The event, featured flags’ presentation, was led by Ikorodu LGA Chairman, Otunba Adebayo Lawson, who expressed confidence in the party’s candidates, describing them as individuals of integrity and proven commitment to public service.

According to him, the number of registered voters did not match up with the number of people who voted in the last election.

He, therefore, charged Ikorodu residents to come out en masse on election day to vote for the right candidates.

He said: “People of Ikorodu, it is with great delight that I introduce to you these great representatives of the party. They are true to their words and their manifesto as you could see from many of their actions during their first term in office.

“There were 49,000 registered voters last year and not up to half came out on election day. This year, let it be different. Let your voices be heard with your votes. Come out in your numbers, tell your families and neighbours to vote for the right candidates this year.”

The Ikorodu West LCDA candidates include the Ikorodu West’s chairman, Sulaimon Kazeem, vice chairman, Adesegun Aluko and councillors representing the five wards.

Speaking, the Youth Leader of Ikorodu Youth Council, Taiwo Aanuoluwapo, declared the youth’s support for Kazeem’s second term and other candidates.

He said: “Sulaimon and others’ performance in the first term already guarantees them an express ticket because they have done so well in contributing to the development of Ikorodu and ensuring that the youth’s voices are heard. We also believe that the councillors who are just running for the first time will also do well.”
