Apapa-Iganmu APC affirms unity, eyes overwhelming victory at council poll
The All Progressives Congress (APC), Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has affirmed its unwavering commitment to unity and victory in the upcoming July 12, 2025, Council elections. The declaration came during a press briefing held on Democracy Day, June 12, 2025, at the party secretariat.
The event, led by the APC Chairmanship candidate for Apapa-Iganmu LCDA, Jimoh Olawale-Saliu , saw a gathering of prominent party figures, including the party chairman, ward chairmen, party leaders, and fellow chairmanship aspirants.
Olawale began his address by extending felicitations to all Nigerians on Democracy Day, paying special tribute to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whom he hailed as ‘Our Hero of Democracy’ and the ‘architect of the new Lagos that we all enjoy’.
“We are restating our commitment to work with him and the state government in building a ‘Greater Lagos’,” Olawale-Saliu stated.
He underscored the party’s alignment with the state’s vision.
“With the council elections just weeks away, the APC candidate emphasised the party’s internal cohesion. “Gathered here today are all the stakeholders of the APC in our dear Apapa Iganmu LCDA in our resolve to ensure our party records yet another overwhelming victory come July 12, 2025 council election,” he asserted.
He acknowledged the significance of the polls, referring to them as a litmus test for the 2027 General election. To that end, Olawale-Saliu confirmed that the party has mended all cracks, closed our flanks and built our ranks, and we are all together marching to victory.”
Olawale-Saliu assured the residents of Apapa-Iganmu LCDA that his incoming administration would surpass the achievements of the incumbent. He praised the current Chairman, Funmilayo Akande-Muhammed, for her great performance in governance, but pledged even more significant progress.
“Funmilayo Akande-Muhammed’s outstanding performance is just the starting point compared to what we are bringing to the table when you trust us with your mandate once again,” he promised. He expressed gratitude to supporters who have kept faith with the ‘Olawale-Otito mandate’ since its emergence. “We promise not to disappoint.”
The briefing concluded with a prayer for the sustainance of our democracy, for Apapa-Iganmu LCDA, Lagos State and Nigeria in general.
