Angry mob kills suspected bandit after attack in Benue community
A suspected bandit met a brutal end in the early hours of Sunday, after being captured and killed by a mob in Tse-Nor, a village in Harga District of Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, Benue State.
The incident happened around 3:00 a.m. when gunmen reportedly stormed the community and opened fire, injuring a resident identified as Iorsue Ukande, who was shot in the thigh during the attack.
In retaliation, youths in the village mobilized and pursued the assailants. They succeeded in apprehending one of the gunmen, who was subsequently beaten to death as the rest of the attackers fled under pressure.
The deceased, whose identity has yet to be confirmed, was later taken to the General Hospital in Katsina-Ala, where medical personnel pronounced him dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, the injured victim is currently receiving medical attention, and his condition is said to be stable.
