Six high-profile MLB prospects to watch during Amarillo Sod Poodles 2025 season

Aside from the big-name players on the roster, Amarillo has 11 players who return from the team's 2024 squad. Luke Albright, Jhosmer Alvarez, Alec Baker, Zach Barnes, Gerardo Gutierrez, Christian Cerda, Jose Fernandez, Jesus Valdez, Jean Walters, Andy Weber, Caleb Roberts and Kristian Robinson were all in the Texas Panhandle last season, and will start the 2025 campaign at Hodgetown once again.

Following the Sod Poodles' three-game series against the Missions, the team returns to Amarillo for its home opener against the Springfield Cardinals at 7:05 p.m. on April 8. The contest is the first of a six-game series and will feature "opening night fireworks" according to the team's calendar.
