Aiyedatiwa engages consultant on increasing IGR

Ondo Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has engaged the services of BBA Consult for the purpose of increasing the state monthly Internally Generated Revenue from N1.7bn monthly to N6bn monthly.
Aiyedatiwa, had earlier said there were many leakages in the revenue generation and he would engage Consultant to deploy technology to block the leakages.
However, less than 48 hours after his inauguration, Aiyedatiwa signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Consultant on the development and deployment of a secured ICT to enhance state resources planning and management system towards increase in revenue generation.
A statement by Chief Press Secretary to Aiyedatiwa, Ebenezer Adeniyan, said the agreement aimed to reform the internally generated revenue profile of the State.
The statement said the agreement was on a Build, Operate and Transfer basis.
Governor Aiyedatiwa has also approved the upgrade and conversion of the state owned Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, to a University of Agriculture and Agribusiness.
The institution was initially proposed to be upgraded to the University of Management Science and Technology under late former Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.
Aiyedatiwa who announced the conversion of the institution after his inauguration, said the school would be the model for the agric and food security revolution initiative of his administration.
He said a committee would be set up to work out modalities for the implementation of the conversion even as he assured that the new status would not have any negative effects on the current students and staff of the institution.
