Air India, IndiGo & SpiceJet issue travel advisories for Delhi passengers amid heavy rains

Air India, IndiGo, and SpiceJet have issued advisories for Delhi travelers due to heavy rains and strong winds. Passengers are urged to check their flight status for potential delays and allow extra travel time to the airport because of traffic congestion. The IMD has forecast continued adverse weather conditions, including thunderstorms and high winds.

, IndiGo and SpiceJet on Wednesday issued travel advisories for passengers travelling to and from Delhi, asking them to check the status of their flights, due to heavy rains and gusty winds"Gusty wind and rain are impacting flight operations in Delhi. To ensure a smooth travel experience, we encourage our passengers to check the latest flight status," Air India posted on X.


"Heavy rains are forecast across Delhi today and while our operations remain on schedule for now, weather-related delays may be expected later in the day. If you're flying out today, we recommend checking your flight status on our website or app before heading to the airport," IndiGo said.

IndiGo further asked passengers to leave early for the airport due to traffic snarls across the city.

"Please also allow additional time for your journey, as rain may affect traffic conditions en route," the airline said.

Meanwhile, SpiceJet posted, "Due to bad weather in Delhi (DEL), all departures/arrivals and their consequential flights may get affected. Passengers are requested to keep a check on their flight status via http://spicejet.com/#status."

"Additionally, passengers travelling to the airport are requested to keep a tab on live traffic and allow sufficient time for the journey due to traffic congestion on the roads leading to the airport."

Several parts of Delhi witnessed heavy rainfall on Wednesday. IMD warned of more moderate to heavy rain, with thunderstorms, lightning, and winds up to 60 km/h.
