Abuja–Kaduna Train Derails Shortly After Departure, Evacuation Underway

In response to the emergency, military personnel were promptly deployed to the scene to assist in evacuating stranded passengers and to secure the affected area. President Tinubu further stated his anticipation of a full briefing to ensure that swift action is taken and adequate support is provided to all affected individuals. He noted that theNigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) is already actively addressing the situation. The President also highlighted the importance of taking necessary steps to prevent similar occurrences in the future, underscoring the gravity of the incident and the need for enhanced rail safety measures.
