A$AP Rocky's 'Don't Be Dumb' Album Soars to No. 1 on Billboard 200, Rihanna Thrilled!

A$AP Rocky has achieved a significant milestone with his long-awaited album, "Don’t Be Dumb," debuting at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart dated January 31. This marks his third career No. 1 album and his first chart-topper in over a decade, following "AT.LONG.LAST.A$AP" in June 2015 and "LONG.LIVE.A$AP" in 2013.

The achievement was enthusiastically celebrated by his partner, global superstar Rihanna, who took to X to proudly announce, “Just me here to let yall know my baby daddy got the NUMBER 1 ALBUM!!! Aaahhhhhh hah! DONT BE DUMB!!!” The couple shares three children: sons RZA Athelston and Riot Rose, and five-month-old daughter Rocki Irish. Rocky has also expressed openness to expanding their family further, stating on The Joe Budden Podcast, "whatever God give me, it’s a blessing," despite joking about currently having a "football team." Rihanna has similarly hinted at future family plans on social media, suggesting a shared desire for more children.

"Don’t Be Dumb" garnered 123,000 equivalent album units in the United States in the week ending January 22, according to Luminate. This sum included 76,000 Streaming Equivalent Album (SEA) units, marking A$AP Rocky’s best streaming week ever, and 47,000 album sales. The album's release on January 16 was supported by a robust marketing strategy, including a widely-available standard 15-track vinyl LP, a CD, and cassette sold exclusively via the artist’s webstore, and digital/streaming editions with additional tracks. The album was issued across more than a dozen vinyl variants, resulting in 40,000 units sold—his best week ever on vinyl. Deluxe boxed sets featuring CDs and branded clothing also boosted sales. The track “PUNK ROCKY” from the album also entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 64 on the chart dated January 24.

Beyond A$AP Rocky’s success, the latest Billboard 200 chart saw several other notable entries and movements. ENHYPEN secured their sixth consecutive top 10 album with "THE SIN : VANISH," debuting at No. 2 with 122,000 equivalent album units, including 113,000 in traditional album sales, making it their fourth leader on Top Album Sales. The group’s sales were significantly boosted by over 20 CD variants containing collectible items, including signed editions.

Bad Bunny's former chart-topper, "DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS," re-entered the top 10, jumping 12-3 with 119,000 equivalent album units (a 270% increase). This surge was driven by the release of a new Amazon-exclusive red-colored vinyl variant, contributing 85,000 pure album sales—a 4,909% increase and Bad Bunny's best week ever on vinyl. This also marks the biggest sales week in the modern era for a Spanish-language album on vinyl. Further vinyl editions are anticipated, including a white-colored variant for all retailers before his Super Bowl LX halftime show performance on February 8.

Other albums in the top 10 included Morgan Wallen’s "I’m the Problem" (2-4), Zach Bryan’s "With Heaven On Top" (1-5), Olivia Dean’s "The Art of Loving" (3-7), Swift’s "The Life of a Showgirl" (4-8), and the "KPop Demon Hunters" soundtrack (5-9). YoungBoy Never Broke Again achieved his 17th top 10 album with "Slime Cry" debuting at No. 6, earning 70,000 units, predominantly from SEA. This ties him with Drake for the second-most top 10 albums among rappers, with Future holding the lead at 18.

Rounding out the top 10, Madison Beer earned her first top 10 entry with "Locket" debuting at No. 10. The album secured 43,000 equivalent album units, with 24,000 in album sales and 18,000 in SEA units, both personal bests. Its success was aided by eight vinyl variants, three CD variants, a digital download, a cassette tape, and deluxe boxed sets containing merchandise. Her track "Bittersweet" also reached No. 23 on the Pop Airplay chart.
