80s Casual Classics to make southern debut at Liberty Romford
The new store will showcase 70s, 80s and 90s-inspired apparel and trainers from brands including Sergio Tacchini, Fila Vintage, Ellesse, Adidas Originals, Lacoste, Diadora and Benetton – targeting both old and new lovers of football casualclassic styles.
It will also stock custom-made exclusives from third-party brands which can only be found in 80s Casual Classics stores and on its website.
Neil Primett, founder and Managing Director at 80s Casual Classics, said: "We have had huge success in the North, and a large portion of our online sales comes from the South, especially in the Essex and London region, due to the prominence of the subculture we sit within.
"We have no doubt that The Liberty Romford is the right place for us, and cannot wait to fulfil the ever growing demand for high quality retro fashion with a unique modern spin that we know the destination’s highly engaged customer base will love."
80s Casual Classics boasts a "cinematic reputation", having supplied wardrobe across several films and TV series that include the likes of ‘This is England’, ‘The Firm’, ‘The Business’ – which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary – and the recently released ‘Marching Powder’.
Daniel Tucker, Leasing Manager at Redical-owned The Liberty Romford, said: "80s Casual Classics is unlike anything we have at The Liberty Romford, and as a result will help us diversify our mix even further.
"We are a destination that evolves with the needs of our community, and with the demand for nostalgic fashion growing, 80sCasual Classics will enrich our customer experience while also establishing a key point of difference."
JD Sports acquired 80s Casual Classics in March 2021, but Neil Primett was able to buy it back in July 2023 and has since opened stores in Derby, Barnsley, Glasgow and, most recently, in Norwich – taking over the old Elements menswear store in March 2025.
The announcement of 80s Casual Classics opening at The Liberty Romford follows other investment in stores at the centre from leading high street brands including Pandora, The Perfume Shop and Holland & Barrett.
