Charlotte Colbert

Alice Krige, Kota Eberhardt, Rupert Everett, Malcolm McDowell

Former film star Veronica Ghent (Krige) is far beyond her days in Hollywood. Following a daunting double mastectomy procedure, Ghent packs her bags for Sweden to embark on a healing retreat. Accompanied by young nurse Desi (Eberhardt), little do they know that the place they’re staying was once the burning ground for witches centuries ago, most of whom didn’t receive a proper trial.

Similarly, Ghent is a victim herself, formerly abused as a child by a director who inappropriately reduced her as his “special girl”. With the ashes of these spiritual ancestors scattered around the mysterious grounds, Ghent earns a certain kind of power to take revenge on those who have wronged her in the past. Loosely based on the #MeToo era, is a powerful and thought-provoking piece on the existence of women and their lack of authority in a male-dominated industry.

The only thing that’s deadlier than the pandemic itself is the institutions that fail to contain it, particularly the United States government.

Offering a painful behind-the-scenes look into the mishandling of the pandemic response, Totally Under Control starkly reminds audiences that the true heroes of the situation are not the ones drafting policies from the comfort of their offices; rather, the front-liners who put their lives with no guarantee of making it back home alive.
