2027 Race Heats Up: Cleric Backs Jonathan, Keyamo Warns PDP Against Ex-President's Bid

Prophecy on 2027 Presidential Election

Apostle Oluwarotimi Adeyeye, President and founder of the Clear Revelation Ministry based in Ibadan, has made a significant prophecy regarding the 2027 Presidential election. According to Adeyeye, former President Goodluck Jonathan is destined to emerge as the winner if he decides to contest. This revelation was shared during a press conference held at the Nigerian Union of Journalists press centre in Ibadan, where Adeyeye outlined his prophecies for the remainder of the year.

Divine Alignment and Past Predictions

Adeyeye, known for his past accurate predictions such as the impeachment and subsequent reinstatement of former Oyo State Governor Rasidi Ladoja, believes that God can orchestrate Jonathan's return to power should he choose to run on the platform of any registered political party. The cleric highlighted instances he interprets as evidence of Jonathan possessing “the mind of God.” He recalled a meeting in 2014 with Engr. Jide Adeniji at Dodan Barrack, Lagos, where he felt a divine connection. Adeyeye cited Jonathan's decision to reject a USA proposal on same-sex marriage and his peaceful relinquishment of office in 2015, which he believes averted widespread conflict and bloodshed.

Warnings to Tinubu

In addition to his prophecy concerning Jonathan, Apostle Adeyeye also offered advice to President Bola Tinubu regarding his second-term ambition, urging him to abandon the plan. Adeyeye stated, “I don’t see him winning that contest but with God nothing is irreversible,” implying a strong conviction against Tinubu's re-election prospects.

Opposition from Festus Keyamo

Conversely, Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, has issued a stern warning to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against considering former President Goodluck Jonathan as its presidential candidate for the 2027 elections. Keyamo, in a post on his X handle, argued that such a move could severely compromise the party’s chances of success. He contended that the PDP's current predicament stems from its refusal to zone its 2023 ticket to the South, a decision that alienated support in the South-South and South-East regions.

Constitutional Concerns

Keyamo further raised a critical constitutional concern, highlighting that fielding Jonathan would introduce a severe legal threat under section 137(3) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended). This section, according to Keyamo, could disqualify any individual who has been sworn in twice as president from contesting again.
