2025 NBA Free Agency: Orlando Magic agree to one-year deal with Tyus Jones
The Orlando Magic have agreed to terms with free agent guard on a one-year, $7 million contract. of ESPN reported the deal on Monday.
Jones, 29, joins his fifth team in what will be his 11th season in the . The former standout spent the 2024-25 season with the Phoenix Suns. Jones started 58-of-81 games, averaging 10.2 points, 5.3 assists and 2.4 rebounds per game. He shot 44.8% from the field and a career-best 41.4% from behind the arc.
A career 37.8% shooter from three, Jones has been one of the better backup point guards in the league over the last four years. His shooting ability is much needed for a Magic team which finished this past season with the worst 3-point percentage in the league at 31.8%. Head coach said in exit interviews there would be an emphasis on improving their shooting from deep.
“You talk about the numbers of what our shooting was,” Mosley said. “It wasn’t expected to be that. That’s the reality of where we are. I think it comes down to what we do this summer and how we work. It’s not just what we bring, it’s also the guys in here improving and getting better at their craft.

“We’ll make it an emphasis. We’ll make it a focus. But it’s also how do we continue to get these guys better as we see the jump and improvement from each of these guys.”
Earlier this month, Orlando acquired guard from the Memphis Grizzlies in a blockbuster deal to kick off the NBA offseason. Bane shot 39.2% from three last season and is a career 41% shooter from behind the arc.
Orlando is gearing up to make a playoff run in 2025-26. They are led on the court by the forward tandem of and Franz Wagner.
