Published 6 hours ago2 minute read

Delta State is preparing to host the second edition of its Creative and Entertainment Summit, with a lineup of major industry figures expected to converge in Asaba this July.

The summit, organised by the Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment, aims to build on the momentum of its 2024 debut. According to a teaser released through official government channels, the 2025 edition will feature a blend of entertainment showcases and targeted capacity-building programmes.

Expected guests include comedian Gordons, singer Harrysong, actor Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Mavin Records President Tega Oghenejobo, AY Comedian, and singer Victor AD—all of whom trace professional or personal ties to Delta State.

Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment, Ambassador Prayer Pemu, said this year’s edition will feature a skills acquisition component as part of the state’s broader youth empowerment strategy under the MORE Agenda of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

“The inclusion of a dedicated training segment reflects our commitment to ensuring that the entertainment sector does more than entertain—it empowers,” Pemu stated.

Governor Oborevwori is expected to attend as the special guest of honour, alongside senior government officials and key players in the creative economy.

While organisers are yet to confirm a specific date, the event is scheduled for July 2025. Industry observers anticipate strong participation from local talents and creative entrepreneurs across Nigeria.
