Former Coronation Street star Melissa Johns has revealed the happy news that she is pregnant with her first child.

Melissa Johns and her husband Dan Hampton say they made a wish, ‘and it came true.’ The couple are expecting their first child, and they are ‘forever grateful’ for the little blessing.

Melissa and Dan made the joint announcement on their social media pages, and we’ve got to say, it is one of the cutest announcements we’ve seen!

The short clip opens with a beach-set tableau. A mirror with the words ‘Baby H-J’ and ‘2025’ written on it has been laid in the centre, flanked by a little stuffed toy on one side with adorable baby booties and an ultrasound pic on the other.

We then see two figures entering the scene, seen reflected in the mirror. As blue waves splash onto shore, Melissa and Dan can be seen running together, then twirling around until finally pausing to show Melissa’s baby bump, dressed in a lovely summer dress.

Melissa appeared on Coronation Street from 2017 – 2019 playing the character Imogen Pascoe. She has also appeared in Grantchester and Life and most recently played Carla on the Netflix hit Adolescence. She was also a contestant on Celebrity MasterChef in 2021.

As well as being an actor, Melissa is also a disability activist; she was born without her right forearm and hand.

She and Dan married in October 2024. We’re sure they are delighted to be adding this bundle of joy to their family!
