1000-Lb. Sisters star Amy Slaton got engaged to Brian Lovvorn after just five months of dating, and the special moment was documented on her family’s TLC show.

Brian proposed to Amy, 37, inside the padded room of Henderson Haunts’ haunted house in Henderson, Kentucky, during the Tuesday, May 13, episode, which was filmed during the winter of 2024. The moment was made extra memorable as Amy’s sisters and Misty Slaton Wentworth were there to witness the proposal.

“Originally, he slipped a green apple Ring Pop on my finger while I was asleep, about two weeks into our relationship,” Amy told People after the engagement aired on the show. “I was shocked at first, and I said yes but only if the real proposal was in a haunted house on Halloween.”

While recalling the proposal, Amy said, “He said something about, ‘My love for you is crazy, it’s scary how compatible we are.’ Just like [how] our matching tattoos say, ‘Scary love.’”

Brian popped the question with a unique engagement ring, which has no diamonds and is decorated with two skeleton hands forming a heart.

Despite just announcing their plans to wed, the couple revealed that they don’t intend to have a long engagement. After noting that their engagement period “will be over with soon,” Amy said she wanted a “small, quaint” wedding.

Both Amy and Brian have “always wanted to get married on Halloween,” though they are “still figuring out the wedding party situation” and “need to find a venue, dress, flowers, pretty much everything!”

“I’ll be able to call him my husband and get to spend the rest of my life with him,” Amy added. “Our engagement life may be short, but our marriage will last an eternity!”

While they’re still figuring out the logistics of their wedding, Amy admitted she knows her style goals for the day. “My vision for the dress is white with black lines, a corset with a princess poof,” she said. “Brian wants me to have pink hair for the wedding, and I want to have a Victorian style updo.”

She quickly knew that he was her perfect match when he met her and her ex-husband Michael Halterman’s sons, Gage, 4, and Glenn, 2.

“They just took to him naturally, he just fit perfectly in our family,” Amy shared of Brian’s relationships with her kids. “He fits perfectly in the life I’ve always wanted.”

She also praised Brian for being so “patient and understanding,” adding that her husband-to-be “really has a heart of gold.”

Amy first met Brian at a concert, which she opened up about during the season 7 premiere on April 15. “We were in the mosh pit and we were talking and singing and stuff,” she explained at the time. “And we went to go get street tacos. And we haven’t been apart since.”

The mother of two was clearly smitten with Brian early on, and she explained to producers that he’s the “ultimate package.”

“Whatever you need, he’s all in one,” Amy said. “And to top it off, the icing on the cake: He loves horror just as much as I do.”
