1000-Lb. Sisters star celebrated a fun weight loss milestone during a family vacation.
The TLC personality, 38, showed off her 500-pound weight loss in a blue and black floral tankini as she swam in a river with sisters and , as seen in a clip of the latest episode shared on TLC’s Instagram on Tuesday, April 29. Tammy splashed in the water and slid inside an inner tube adorned with a doughnut design, which turned out to be a huge milestone for her.
“I’ve always been too big to fit through the tube hole, the donut hole, so I was for sure that it wasn’t going to fit over me,” she said in a confessional. “But it did. So I’m like, ‘Score.’”
Tammy joked, “Since I can’t eat the doughnut, I guess I’ll wear it.”
Fans in the comments celebrated the reality star’s achievement.
“Love that Tammy is finally living life!!!! Go girl, you deserve it!!!” one person wrote, while another user added, “Nice job Tammy! U’ve come along way girl!!”
“So good to see Tammy able to have fun,” a third person commented.

Tammy began her weight loss journey after a medical incident in 2022. She was placed in a medically induced coma and lost 115 pounds in 30 days during her hospital stay. The Kentucky native, who weighed 725 pounds at her heaviest, later achieved her goal of getting down to under 550 pounds so that she could qualify for bariatric surgery in July 2022.
Tammy confirmed to People in December 2023 that she was down to 285 pounds.
“One of the big changes that I have gone through this past year is probably small to most people. But to me it was huge,” she said. “Just being able to walk without a walker or be pushed in a wheelchair, and no oxygen. I don’t even sleep with it at night anymore. Then it was being able to fit in a regular vehicle, front seat, and then the belt buckle and not having to use an extender now. So I mean, just what seems minor to people, is giant to me.”

She also shared in an August 2024 TikTok video that she had lost around 500 pounds.
“I take a lot of pictures, a lot of selfies, not because I look good — well, I do a little bit — but mostly because I want to remember how big I was, what I looked like,” she said. “And I reflect, ‘Dude, I was huge!’ I lost 500 pounds. I would not be able to sit in this chair.”
Fans saw Tammy celebrate reaching 281 pounds on the scale with her brother, Chris Combs, in a November 2024 episode of 1000-Lb. Sisters.
“I’ll be goddamned. Congratulations, that’s good!” Chris, 45, said.
“Chris said he weighs 284. I now weigh a little less than Chris. That’s mind-blowing. I think the last time I weighed 281, I was in fourth or fifth grade. I’m the baby sister, but I’m not the ‘big’ baby sister [anymore],’” Tammy added proudly.
