Zenith Bank Ignites Lagos with 2026 International Women's Day Seminar

Zenith Bank Plc has officially announced its plans to commemorate the 2026 International Women’s Day with its annual seminar, scheduled for Monday, March 9, 2026. The prestigious event will take place at The Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, bringing together accomplished women and progressive leaders from various sectors.
The seminar aligns seamlessly with the global theme for International Women’s Day, “Give to Gain,” which underscores the vital principle that sustainable progress is achieved when individuals and institutions make intentional investments in women. Zenith Bank’s specific theme for its 2026 IWD seminar is “Take It, You Own It.” This theme profoundly reflects the bank’s belief in a dual responsibility: institutions must actively create enabling systems and equitable environments, while women must boldly step forward, claim their space, own their value, and lead with unwavering confidence. It serves as both an affirmation and a challenge, encouraging women to embrace opportunities, empower themselves and others, and take full ownership of their growth journeys.
Building on the resounding success of previous seminars, including the 2025 edition themed “Winning On All Fronts,” Zenith Bank’s 2026 programme is meticulously designed to deepen meaningful engagement around critical topics such as women’s empowerment, leadership, and sustainable impact. Over the years, the bank’s International Women’s Day initiatives have consistently brought together influential women leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, and emerging talents for dynamic dialogue, inspiration, and shared learning experiences focused on gender equity, professional growth, and inclusive opportunity.
More than just a commemorative gathering, the 2026 seminar is envisioned as a convergence of influence, insight, and inspiration. It will feature a carefully curated programme spanning keynote addresses, insightful panel conversations, interactive question-and-answer sessions, and creative interludes. The segments are specifically focused on leadership insight, professional empowerment, wellbeing, and collaboration, offering attendees unparalleled opportunities to engage deeply with thought leadership and acquire practical strategies for advancing equity in business and society.
Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dame Dr. Adaora Umeoji, OON, will deliver the welcome address. Speaking ahead of the seminar, she emphasized, “The International Women’s Day is a reminder that progress requires intentionality. ‘Give to Gain’ speaks to the responsibility institutions have to create real opportunities, while our theme ‘Take It, You Own It’ challenges women to step forward boldly and lead. At Zenith Bank, we are deliberate about building environments where women are supported to grow, thrive, and shape outcomes, not only within our institution but across the communities and industries we serve.”
Through its powerful alignment with the global “Give to Gain” theme and its bold seminar theme, “Take It, You Own It,” Zenith Bank reaffirms its core belief that when institutions give intentionally and women lead confidently, entire ecosystems rise. As conversations around inclusion continue to shape the future of business and society, the Bank remains resolute in its mission to foster platforms where women’s potential is recognized, amplified, and fully owned, thereby encouraging engagement and advancing crucial dialogues around inclusion.
