Actor Wagner Moura recently engaged in a conversation with Collider's Steven Weintraub, offering insights into his challenging new Netflix thriller, 'The Last House,' and teasing his upcoming project, 'Flesh of the Gods,' directed by Panos Cosmatos and starring Kristen Stewart. Moura, known for his intense roles in action and drama like 'Narcos,' 'The Gray Man,' and 'Civil War,' revealed that 'The Last House' presented a surprisingly demanding experience despite its single-location premise.

'The Last House,' directed by Louis Leterrier (known for 'The Incredible Hulk' and 'Fast X'), is a sci-fi slow burn that centers on a family of four trapped within their home while a mysterious threat looms outside. Moura stars alongside Greta Lee, Gabriel Barbosa, Emma Ho, Noah Alexander Sosnowski, and Riley Chung. The film, which is now streaming on Netflix, explores themes of survival and human resilience under extraordinary circumstances.

Moura admitted that filming 'The Last House' was unexpectedly arduous. He ranked it as the most physically demanding project he had ever undertaken, surpassing even his work on 'Elite Squad' or 'Narcos.' The shoot, which was conducted chronologically, became particularly challenging during the final two to three weeks, which involved extensive water scenes. Moura described spending entire days holding his breath in the water, a strenuous experience that significantly tested his physical limits. He humorously suggested that perhaps he's just getting older, or both.

Beyond the physical demands, Moura also shared a personal epiphany he experienced during filming. Contrary to the interviewer's assumption about needing more provisions, Moura realized the opposite: he felt he possessed too many material possessions. He expressed admiration for Greta Lee's character, who recycles things, and reflected on the idea of decluttering, echoing David Fincher's 'Fight Club' line, 'The things you own end up owning you.' He advocates for getting rid of excess and sharing with those in need.
