Tragic Loss: Argentine Singer Fede Dorcaz Fatally Shot Before TV Debut

Argentine singer, actor, and model Fede Dorcaz tragically lost his life in Mexico City on Thursday, October 9th, at the age of 29. His untimely death, believed by authorities to be the result of an attempted robbery, occurred just days before he was scheduled to make a highly anticipated appearance on the popular Mexican television dance competition, "Las Estrellas Bailan en Hoy."
Dorcaz was fatally shot shortly after leaving a dance rehearsal, reportedly en route to his home, when the incident unfolded. According to reports from TMZ and The Guardian, he sustained a gunshot wound to the neck while attempting to exit a road, leading to his instant death at the scene. This shocking event has sent ripples through the entertainment industry, leaving many in mourning.
Authorities in Mexico City, specifically the Secretariat of Public Safety, have initiated a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding Dorcaz's murder. Investigators are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area, which has reportedly allowed them to identify four male suspects seen fleeing the scene on motorcycles. As of press time, however, no arrests have been publicly reported.
Beyond his rising music and acting career, Fede Dorcaz was also known for his personal life, being in a relationship with Mexican actress and singer Mariana Ávila. His colleagues and the production team of "Las Estrellas Bailan en Hoy" expressed their profound grief, with the show posting a tribute on Instagram, stating in Spanish, "Fede leaves a big void in our team. His memory and passion will continue to inspire us forever."
Born and raised in Argentina, Dorcaz moved with his family to Spain at the age of 13. He initially embarked on a career in modeling before transitioning into the Latin pop music scene. He released several tracks, including the notable "No Eres Tú" and "Cara Bonita," and his debut album, "Instinto," was released in 2024. In an interview with Rolling Stone Australia in May 2025, Dorcaz articulated his ambitious vision, saying, "I want to be more than just a musician. I want to show people that you can build something amazing from nothing and inspire others to chase their dreams." His tragic passing cuts short a promising career filled with passion and potential.
