Tragic Loss: 16-Year-Old Girl Dies in London Rail Line Incident, Family Pays Heartbreaking Tribute

The community is mourning the tragic loss of 16-year-old Daisy House, who passed away this week following an incident at Loughton Underground station. Emergency services were dispatched to the station in the Epping Forest area of Essex just after 2:30 pm on Monday, December 15, responding to reports of a casualty on the tracks. British Transport Police officers and paramedics promptly arrived at the scene.
Daisy was transported to hospital in a life-threatening condition. Despite the dedicated efforts of emergency workers and medical staff, she sadly succumbed to her injuries. The British Transport Police have confirmed that the incident is not being treated as suspicious and are currently preparing a file for the coroner, ahead of an inquest. In the immediate aftermath, Transport for London suspended travel between Epping and Woodford while the scene was secured.
Her devastated family has released a heartfelt tribute, describing Daisy as a "bright, beautiful, clever, and funny girl who had just started Sixth Form and had her whole future ahead of her." In their statement, they extended profound gratitude to all the emergency services and doctors who worked tirelessly to save her, specifically acknowledging a British Transport Police officer and paediatric nurses for their exceptional kindness. The family also expressed thanks to everyone who sent best wishes, kind messages, and floral tributes, concluding with a respectful request for privacy as they come to terms with the immense loss of their daughter and adapt to life without her.
This incident at Loughton Underground station occurs months after another unrelated fatality at the same station on February 24, where a passenger was pronounced dead following a medical emergency. That earlier incident also led to the station's closure for several hours, causing delays on the Central line, and was similarly not treated as suspicious by the British Transport Police.
